Battery Hazard Labels
Battery Hazard Labels
In the Medical Device and Life Science industries, transporting lithium ion and lithium metal batteries is common. Ship your batteries and materials safely, remain in compliance with IATA, and properly identify hazardous materials with our selection of Battery Hazard and Battery Transport labels.
Each label is designed to meet regulatory requirements managed by the IATA (International Air Transport Association) including UN3480, UN3481, UN3090, and UN3091. By utilizing the appropriate standard and identification, packages can be sorted and transported in the safest and legal manner.
UN3481
Identifies packages and shipments with lithium ion batteries contained in equipment.
UN3480
Identifies packages and shipments with lithium ion batteries shipped by themselves and not contained in equipment. In addition, the IATA requires that any package that meets UN3480 is forbidden from transport as cargo on passenger aircraft. Shipments that fall under UN3480 must have additional labels applied to the outer packaging.
UN3091
Identifies packages and shipments with lithium metal batteries contained in equipment.
UN3090
Identifies packages and shipments with lithium metal batteries shipped by themselves and not contained in equipment. In addition, the IATA requires that any package that meets UN3480 is forbidden from transport as cargo on passenger aircraft. Shipments that fall under UN3480 must have additional labels applied to the outer packaging.
