Transporting Biological Samples

Properly identify packages carrying biological samples and biohazards with our UN3373 Category B Transport Label. Per IATA and DOT regulations, "Diagnostic", "Clinical", or "Biological Substances, Category B" are substances which are known to contain pathogens and are to be used for diagnositc or investigational purposes. These substances must be properly labeled and identified prior to transport by air.

Specimens which do not meet the criteria for Category A are designated as UN3373 Category B. Our Biological Transport labels are designed to meet requirements for proper identification. In order to meet IATA labeling requirements, this label is 4.75" x 4". UN3373 Category B - Shipping Biological Substances

This label is used to identify packages that contain a human or animal specimen that does not fall into Category A. These specimens are intended to be used for diagnostic or investigational purposes. The specimens include, but are not limited to, blood, urine, fluids, excreta, and tissues. Per the DOT, substances under Category B is an infectious substance that is not in a form generally capable of causing permanent disability or life-threatening or fatal disease in otherwise healthy humans or animals. In comparison, a substance under Category A is an infectious substance in a form capable of causing permanent disability, life-threatening or fatal disease if exposure occurs.
